Founded in 1857, the Dodane French manufacture quickly gained renown throughout the world of watchmaking for its research-based ethos. Alphonse Dodane and his father-in-law François-Xavier Joubert originally had the idea of creating a watchmaking factory and design workshop deep in the Doubs gorges – and there have been five successive generations at the helm since then.
Still run by the Dodane family, today the Dodane 1857 firm is one of the few remaining fully independent watchmakers.
Since 1930, Dodane has been one of the most respected official suppliers to military aviation, leading fighter squadrons, civilian aviation, and international organizations including NATO. Dodane is also one of the world’s leading suppliers of onboard chronographs (NATO reference F-1950).
Its CEO, Cédric Dodane, champions his commitment to the French watchmaking heritage by giving “Made In France” pride of place throughout the range.
The artisanal scale of the business allows each of the firm’s models to be customized.
